Crisis Child Care
For Johnson County
Providing short-term emergency care when families facing crisis are not able to provide regular care. The program’s goal is to reduce the risk of child abuse and to reduce the need for foster care placements by providing temporary child care at no cost to the families in crisis.
Children birth - 17 years are eligible for the program. Care can be provided up to a maximum of 72 hours per fiscal year.
Families are referred to the program by:
· Department of Human Services
· Law enforcement
· Johnson County agencies
· Johnson County school districts

PLEASE IDENTIFY THAT YOU NEED CRISIS CHILD CARE
Paperwork will be completed over the phone and emailed to the child care provider. The parent will need to sign forms before care can be provided.
Child Care Providers
Child care will be provided for children in DHS licensed child care centers or DHS registered, home-based child care programs.
